Overview of Ultrafiltration (UF) Technology
Filtration level (membrane pore size): 0.01 – 0.03 micrometers
Membrane materials: PVDF/PES/PVP, offering high mechanical strength and resistance to both acidic and alkaline chemicals.
Function: Removes suspended solids, most bacteria and log4 viruses, colloidal substances, enzymes, particles, and endotoxins larger than the pore size of the membrane.
Applications:
- Industrial water treatment, well water, water reuse, potable water, pre-treatment for RO systems
Key Features:
- Provides consistent and stable water quality, with a turbidity of treated water < 0.1 NTU
- Extremely compact installation area
- Low wastewater generation (Recovery rate: 97-98%)
Limitations:
- Does not remove pesticides, herbicides, dyes, metal ions, or saline water
- High capital and operational costs, as well as replacement costs
- Does not replace activated carbon systems or water softening equipment
