Anthracite Coal

Introduction:
- Use: Designed to remove suspended impurities in water.
Technical Specifications:
- Particle Size: 0.8–1.2 mm; 1–2 mm and other sizes available
- Bulk Density: 700–800 kg/m³ (depending on particle size)
- Porosity: Greater than 50%
- Basic Chemical Composition: 92% Carbon
- Physical Form: Black, dry, loose, angular particles
Advantages:
- Due to its high pore volume, anthracite is ideal for treating water with high turbidity, extending the filtration cycle.
- Can be used together with sand in existing filtration systems without altering the structure of the filter.
Applications:
- Can be used in pressure filters with a top-down filtration direction.
Usage Recommendations:
- Combine with sand to remove suspended impurities in water.
- Minimum layer thickness: 0.40–0.45 m.
- After replacing the filtration media, perform backwashing to remove the dust layer.
- Backwash Procedure: Backwash at the end of the filtration cycle with a wash water flow rate of 10–12 l/s.m².
- Backwash Duration: 10–15 minutes.
- Clean thoroughly before use.
